Emirates Snatches Best Inflight Entertainment Award for 2024
The airline’s impressive ICE entertainment system is officially the best in the business.
Emirates, the UAE-based airline, has secured the ‘Best Inflight Entertainment Award’ in Airline Ratings 2024 Airline Excellence Awards, celebrating the carrier’s multi-award winning ICE system.
Pioneering seat-back videos for economy-class travellers nearly three decades ago, Emirates has remained at the forefront of inflight entertainment innovation, boasting a staggering 6,500 channels today, solidifying its position as the unrivalled leader in the industry.
Passengers aboard an Emirates flight are treated to a premier entertainment experience, featuring a vast library that includes over 45 Academy Award winning films, an extensive selection of more than 5,000 channels of on-demand entertainment, as well as over 1,500 movies and 1,500 hours of TV shows. Additionally, there's a diverse range of music, podcasts, and audiobooks available in 40 languages and 5 channels of live TV – including BBC, CNN, Sky News Arabia, Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra.
Travellers also have the option to personalise their ICE (Information, Communication, Entertainment) experience prior to their flight by utilising the Emirates app, where they can effortlessly browse and pre-select their desired movies or TV shows, which will then be synchronised to their ICE system as soon as they board the aircraft. This innovative feature enhances the seamless travel experience for passengers, ensuring they can dive straight into their chosen entertainment upon boarding.
“Our editors were unanimous in their praise for Emirates ICE system as a step above.” Geoffrey Thomas, Airlineratings.com Editor-in-Chief, shares with SceneTraveller. “That early investment in inflight entertainment has paid off for Emirates and just when you think it can’t do it better – it lifts the bar once again.”
Emirates consistently refreshes its inflight content, introducing hundreds of new movies, TV shows, podcasts, and music channels each month to enrich its already extensive entertainment library.
