Glittering Line-Up of Global Talent to Perform at Spectacular Opening

The spectacular world fair promises to bring together an awe-inspiring display of visuals, music and performance from a host of international creatives from the UAE and beyond.

Among those preparing to take the stage are international musicians from an array of geographies and genres, including Andrea Bocelli, Andra Day, Ellie Goulding, Lang Lang and Angelique Kidjo. They will join ‘Artist of Arabs’ Mohamed Abdo, Emirati singing sensation ‘Fananat Al Arab’ Ahlam Alshamsi, and Emirati Artist and Expo 2020 Dubai Ambassador Hussain Al Jassmi, a trendsetter on the Khaleeji music scene in the Middle East and internationally. Running from October 1st, 2021 to March 31st, 2022, Expo 2020 is a massive World’s Fair featuring the best of art, music, architecture, technology and culture from around the world. From an adrenaline-boosting sporting programme, to the jaw-dropping outdoor night-time light festival ‘Kaleidoscope’, to gathering the world’s brightest minds for the ‘Programme for People and Planet’, almost every major nation is here to show off some spectacular innovation.


Taking place in Dubai’s iconic Al Wasl Plaza, spectators of Expo 2020’s opening ceremony will enjoy a masterful display of dazzling visuals, music and performances delivered by a selection of the world’s most creative minds, internationally renowned artists and emerging talents, all set to be streamed and televised to audiences around the world.


The Opening Ceremony draws inspiration from the world fair’s theme of ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’, taking its audience across its sub themes of Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability.


Welcoming 192 participating countries for 182 days of visually striking and emotionally inspiring experiences, Dubai Expo 2020 is anticipated to become the largest mega-event in the MEASA region.
