Saudi Tourism Sector Has Generated USD 10 Billion in 2023
The Kingdom has seen a surge of tourists in the country as well as an increase in visitors from the Gulf.
The Saudi tourism industry has generated almost USD 10 billion in revenues in the first quarter of 2023, according to a report released by the Saudi Central Bank. In the same period in 2022, revenues in the tourism industry were around USD 3 billion.
The increase in revenues in the tourism industry is a mix between an influx of religious tourists visiting the Kingdom’s holy cities, as well as a surge in visitors from neighbouring Gulf countries, as well as local Saudi tourists spending more vacation time in the country.
In 2022 Saudi Arabia ranked 11th globally in the international tourism revenue index. The Kingdom welcomed approximately 7.8 million tourists in the first quarter of 2023.
