Saudi Arabia’s giga-project NEOM has announced its latest development, in conjunction with uber-luxury Singaporean hoteliers Raffles Hotels & Resorts. Perched atop a mountain at 2,300m elevation, in the north-western reaches of the Kingdom, the 105-key Raffles Trojena, with its ring-shaped architecture, will offer guests expansive views of the rugged landscape below, providing opportunities to engage with the hotel’s natural surroundings.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with NEOM on the creation of Raffles Trojena,” Omer Acar, CEO of Raffles Hotels & Resorts, tells SceneTraveller. “Trojena is set to be a destination unlike any other, and this mountainside retreat continues the Raffles legacy of growing in the world’s most compelling locales.”

Raffles Trojena’s nature-centered location is one of the prime focusses of the $500 billion project, which also includes the Discover Tower, the Observatory, and the Cosmic Gate. All of these are dedicated to natural exploration and providing access to Saudi Arabia’s unique biomes and landscapes.

“Raffles Trojena will serve as a beacon of luxury in Saudi Arabia’s first year-round mountain and adventure destination,” Philip Gullet, Executive Director and Trojena Region Head, said in a statement. “It will be a place of epic natural majesty combined with immersive and extraordinary experiences.”

The new hotel is slated to open in 2027, ahead of Saudi Arabia’s self-imposed deadline for Vision 2030.
