2022 FIFA World Cup Ticket Holders Granted Free Visas to Egypt
Free entry to the land of the Pharaohs is now possible if you're a 2022 FIFA World Cup ticket holder.
With the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 fast approaching, the entire region is preparing for the crowds of football fans flying in to cheer for their teams. And considering that the 2.9 million tickets sold out-numbers Qatar’s total population of 2.8 million people, these guests will often need to stay outside the small Arab nation between games - giving them an opportunity to explore the rest of the Middle East.
With this in mind, the Egyptian cabinet just granted World Cup ticket holders - specifically, Hayya card holders - an accelerated path to a free visa, giving them the opportunity to easily travel between Egypt and Qatar just in time for the next big match.
The decision came shortly after a previous announcement to give Hayya card holders a 10% discount on stays in Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada’s hotels, along with direct flights taking off from the coastal cities to Doha.
