This Train Will Take You From Saudi to Qatar by 2031

A brand-new high-speed electric train is set to link Riyadh and Doha by 2031, slashing travel time between the two capitals to just two hours. Onboard, travellers will zip through sweeping deserts, rugged mountains, and endless dunes at over 300 km/h, covering nearly 800 kilometres in the same time it takes to fly. Stops along the way at Al-Hofuf and Dammam will open the door to exploring some of Saudi Arabia’s most fascinating cities and economic hubs. With an expected 10 million passengers a year, this first-of-its-kind train is set to have a far greener footprint than flying.
