Upscale Cruise Ship Viking Aton Sets Sail Across the Nile This August
Viking River Cruises grows its fleet in the Nile this August with the launch of their state-of-the-art Viking Aton.
The Viking Aton, one of if not the most upscale ship to sail over the Nile in Egypt by Swiss-based travel company Viking River Cruises, will be ready to set sail this August, joining its renowned sister ship Viking Osiris in sailing the company’s 12-day Pharaohs and Pyramids itinerary.
Specifically crafted to navigate the Nile and able to accommodate just 82 guests, the Viking Aton incorporates elegant Scandinavian aesthetic into its design in order to deliver unparalleled comfort.
The ship’s 42 staterooms, all of which are river-facing, are situated across three decks. The upper deck hosts six Veranda Suites at 409 square feet and two Explorer Suites at 525 square feet. These suits all boast two rooms with a separate bedroom and living area, are equipped with a welcome bottle of champagne, a mini-bar with wine, beer and soft-drinks that is replenished daily, and offer a private balcony with loungers, a table and chairs. Passengers in the Explorer suites will be able to enjoy private transfer services, a drinks package and the option for room service.
The 12-day Pharaohs and Pyramids cruise ambles from one UNESCO World Heritage site to the next, allowing guests to take in sights such as the Pyramids of Giza and Queen Nefertari’s Tomb in the Valley of the Kings. However, guests will also have the choice to extend their stays before or after their cruises to include a land tour of Jerusalem, or a tour of Jordan to see Petra, the Dead Sea and Amman. Cruise prices start at USD 6,499 per person, with extension packages starting at USD 2,199.
