If you’ve been following the news (like any news), you know that Saudi Arabia is on a mission to check off all of its firsts – the first 3D-printed mosque, the first Dragon Ball theme park and the first Miss Universe pageant participant. So, it should come as no surprise that the Kingdom is also getting its first The Hotel Galleria.

Now officially open in the heart of Jeddah’s vibrant Tahlia district, an upscale shopping and dining destination, The Hotel Galleria Jeddah, Curio Collection by Hilton, marks the renowned brand’s inaugural development in the Red Sea, as well as in Saudi Arabia.

The 363-room hotel – which is inspired by Milan’s iconic Galleria Vittorio Emanuale II, the oldest shopping gallery in Italy – is not only 15 minutes away from King Abdulaziz International Airport, it’s also in close proximity to Jeddah’s corniche and two of the most important commercial roads in the city – King Abdulaziz Road and Madinah Road.

In terms of facilities, The Hotel Galleria Jeddah, Curio Collection by Hilton houses state-of-the-art individual spa facilities for men and women, a gym, a 3,000 square metre extensive retail space, and versatile event venues, including a sizable ballroom and 13 conference rooms for business travellers.

From a culinary perspective, gastronomers are in for a treat, as the hotel features diverse all-day dining restaurants – such as The Kitchens, Vaquero Steakhouse and Aqua Lounge on the rooftop pool – an all-day lobby lounge, and Bird Cage, a chocolatier and coffee boutique.

“The Kingdom presents tremendous growth opportunities with Jeddah being one of the country’s key business and leisure hubs for residents and tourists alike.” Fawaz Moumina, Hilton’s Country Manager and Senior Director of Operations in KSA, tells SceneTraveller. “We look forward to bringing more of our award-winning brands to the Kingdom as we plan to open more than 50 hotels in the country over the coming years.”

This newest hospitality hub is part of a recent surge in hotel openings, including notable establishments like the Shangri-La Jeddah, the newly introduced Al Balad hotels, and the refurbished royal palace boutique hotel, Al Hamra Palace.
