Rediscover Yourself Aboard El Markaba's Enriching Nile Retreat
From November 8th to November 15th, Egyptian wellness group 'El Markaba' is bringing you along on a rejuvenating cruise over the Nile.
Egyptian wellness group 'El Markaba' invites those looking for a respite from the hustle and bustle of city life to just let their woes dissipate on an eight-day retreat - from November 8th to the 15th - on the Nile river. Travellers will board the ‘Dahabiya’ - in other words, the same boat that was modelled after traditional royal and noble designs - and build a toolkit of knowledge surrounding how they can elevate their own interpersonal wellness journey.
The retreat is where you can freely go on excursions and not have to worry about the social ramifications of being called pretentious and experience transcendental moments amongst a plethora of sound healing and breathwork sessions by the river.
Dock amongst Nubian shores and indulge in a sensual colour-riddled experience brimming with mouthwatering dishes and beaded jewellery doused in every hue imaginable. The trip is laced with sacred ceremonies so make sure to fully succumb to the different meditative states you can embark on Somatic movement and expression as well as Tantric expansion journeys - led by Mazen Harb and Krisana Locke - that’ll leave you feeling elated.
The local chef and the entire kitchen crew at the Dahabiya prepare all of the meals on board and from scratch. This process allows them to tend to your every healing need (so yeah gut health included but not the ‘eh’ way). All things considered, they’ll be exclusively serving vegetarian meals as well as vegan and gluten-free choices along with traditional Egyptian cuisine, focused on entirely ridding your body of all impurities.
With every holistic retreat comes a community-building element and El Markaba does not shy away from pushing people outside of their comfort zone. Upon boarding, it is worth noting that, if travellers are not embarking on this spiritual journey with a familiar face then they’ll be provided an opportunity to partner up with someone, so perhaps rehash some of those deeply buried communal skillsets you’ve been actively shoving down. Twin cabins are USD 3,300 per person and double suites are USD 3,600 per person.
