AlUla Unveils Gravity-Defying 85-Metre Swing & Suspended Stairway
Bungee jumping who? We don’t know her…
Perhaps thrill-seekers and adrenaline junkies were right all along. Maybe the secret to a life well-lived lies in flinging oneself between canyons in hopes that they can inevitably live to tell the tale of their impulsive - might even say intrusive - decisions. The ancient city of AlUla harbours similar sentiments. Home to mountain climbing opportunities, helicopter rides and a slew of heart-stopping activities, the desert land is no stranger to the world of, well, epinephrine...
The ancient city recently unveiled the AlUla Stairway, a remarkable feat of engineering and design, and the first of its kind in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Leading up to Jabal AlFil (Elephant Rock), this staircase offers a glimpse into the region's past while providing visitors with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness a bird’s eye view of the surrounding vistas.
The Giant Swing, however, is incomparable in nature. After scaling 100 metres to reach the suspended platform, participants are then launched into a thrilling 70-metre arc (honestly, bungee jumping who?) as the adrenaline surges through their veins.
