Assouline Opens First Travel Series Kiosk at Hamad Intl. Airport
Qatar Duty Free and Assouline have unveiled the publisher's first ever Travel Series Kiosk at Hamad International Airport, bringing books, candles and totes to passengers before they even board.
Qatar Duty Free and Assouline have opened the luxury publisher’s first ever Travel Series Kiosk at Hamad International Airport, giving passengers passing through Doha a rather beautiful reason to pause before boarding.
Set above The Orchard, the kiosk is hard to miss, dressed in Assouline’s signature red and framed by oversized Travel Series book spines. Its mood is pure wanderlust, with coffee table books made for dreaming, candles that feel like postcards in scent form, and totes ready for a weekend somewhere glamorous. It’s Assouline’s world of colour, culture, and polished storytelling, reimagined for the swift pace of airport life.
For Qatar Duty Free, it’s another world-first in a travel retail space already known for thinking bigger than the standard airport browse. Thabet Musleh, Qatar Airways Group Chief Retail and Hospitality Officer, says the store was designed “to spark a sense of adventure” for passengers, while giving them “another world first concept to discover” during their journey through Hamad International Airport.
Prosper Assouline puts it even more romantically. The first time he saw the airport, he says, he was “dazzled” by “a city within a city that never sleeps, opening onto every destination in the world”. Bringing the Travel Series kiosk there, he adds, “felt inevitable," because the collection is all about journeying “across the world without ever leaving home”.
Which is exactly the charm of it. Before the gate opens, before the seatbelt sign, before the window view over the runway, there’s now a small red corner in Doha where travel begins on paper.
