Here’s your chance to indulge in a tender steak atop the mountains of Saudi Arabia’s open-air museum.
The ancient sands of Saudi Arabia’s AlUla, a historic city that fuses old-world charm with contemporary art, will host its first luxury food festival, ‘Flavours of AlUla’. The festival will run through January 14th and is dedicated to honouring distinctive culinary experiences, set high atop the AlUla’s looming mountains as well as around its verdant oasis. As part of AlUla’s annual ‘Winter at Tantora’ cultural festival, Flavours of AlUla offers guests the chance to attend masterclasses with renowned chefs, indulge in cuisine from around the world, partake in multisensory activities, and try out popular food truck items and dishes like bubble tea, sweet crepes and organic bowls. Chef Karim Bourgi, the Dubai-based artisan pastry chef behind Kayu Bakehouse and Calla Cafe, will participate in the event alongside Saudi chefs Samira Sadiq and Omar Alwatban, amongst others. A slew of family-friendly activities are also on offer, including the Black Box experience, which involves a blindfolded taste test, and classes on how to roll sushi and make edible pottery. Some of the renowned restaurants currently participating in the festival include Greek aficionados OKTO, Mediterranean fusion experts SOMEWHERE, international eatery Mamzel, and famed steakhouse Entrecote Cafe de Paris.
