This Dubai Hotel Just Announced the UAE’s First Camel-Friendly Stay
Creative, absurd, and, as it turns out, just an April Fools’ joke.
Every now and then, a hotel concept appears that makes you pause mid-scroll and reread the details. Dubai’s Rove Hotels has done exactly that, introducing what it describes as a camel-friendly stay, an unexpected twist on the usual pet-friendly approach.
Instead of catering to cats and dogs, the concept leans into one of the region’s most recognisable icons, with a set of tongue-in-cheek “amenities” designed around the comfort of a camel.
There’s the “Hump-Rest,” presented as custom-contoured bedding for maximum camel back support, a “Sand-tuary Spa” complete with treatments like argan-inspired masks and cucumber wraps for when your camel needs a well-earned break, and “High-Tech Hydration,” a solar-powered snack station ensuring your camel never loses that signature desert glow.
It’s imaginative, slightly absurd, and very on-brand for a region where hospitality concepts often blur the line between practical and conceptual. And if you found yourself believing this camel-friendly stay could actually exist, you’re not alone. We did too, until we realised it was April Fools' Day.
