Jeddah Airport’s Terminal 4 Begins Gradual Operations
The new terminal can handle up to 15 million passengers a year, with foreign airlines moving across in phases through early October.
Terminal 4 at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah began gradual operations, with an annual capacity of up to 15 million passengers.
Wizz Air, AJet and SalamAir were the first airlines to begin operating from the new terminal as Jeddah Airports started a phased transfer of services.
Spanning 97,000 square metres, Terminal 4 includes upgraded operational systems and a dedicated facility for handling group check-in procedures for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.
The transition will continue over the coming days. Fly Jinnah and Nesma Airlines are scheduled to move on September 28th, followed by Akasa Air on September 29th, SyrianAir and Pegasus on October 1st, and Azerbaijan Airlines and Tunisair on October 3rd.
The wider plan is to relocate all foreign airlines currently operating from the North Terminal, along with selected carriers from Terminal 1 and the Hajj and Umrah Terminals, once Terminal 4 reaches full operational readiness.
King Abdulaziz International Airport handled 53.4 million passengers in 2025. Under the Saudi Aviation Programme, its long-term target is to serve more than 90 million passengers annually.
