Luxury Label Valentino to Hold First Middle East Exhibit in Doha
Much like the label’s designs, the exhibition entangles itself with dramatic feminine connotations; showcasing elegantly draped pieces made largely in red.
Luxury Italian label Valentino has taken their unwittingly standout pieces and birthed their first major exhibition in the Middle East. Taking place this month at M7, Doha's cultural hub, the exhibition procures both an introspective look back at the work of founder Valentino Garavani, and a retrospective glimpse into the future and the unfinished journey of current creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli.
Much like the label’s designs, the exhibition entangles itself with dramatic feminine connotations; showcasing elegantly draped pieces made largely in red. A digression from Valentino’s Barbie pink collection, the crimson shade is making a resurgence, morphing into something of a trademark since his first couture collection at the Pitti Palace in Florence in 1962.
Piccioli’s exhibition seamlessly fuses the romantic connotation he personally embodies with Valentino’s heritage; one that catapults Valentino to new heights whilst still preserving the essence of the Italian treasure.
