Travco Group Is Launching a Private Airline Connecting Europe to Egypt
Travco Group International plans a private airline linking Europe to Egypt’s resort cities by the end of the year.
Egyptian tourism conglomerate Travco Group International is preparing for take-off with plans to launch a new private airline by October or November this year, pending regulatory approvals expected to conclude by August. The USD 150 million venture will debut with three Airbus aircraft carrying between 180 and 220 passengers, before expanding to a fourth plane within its first year of operation. The airline is set to focus primarily on charter routes connecting European travellers to Egypt’s coastal destinations, including Sharm El Sheikh, Marsa Alam, and Marsa Matrouh. The move marks a major expansion for one of Egypt’s largest tourism players, as the group looks to tighten its grip on the travel pipeline bringing visitors directly into the country’s resort cities. However, the timeline remains tied to wider regional conditions.
