Gabila Blue Lagoon Brings the Glamping Experience to Dahab
Gabila is offering a glamping experience for people who are on the lookout for a glamorous vacation while still keeping that authentic Dahab feel.
Sparkling turquoise waters and not an impurity in sight. Embedded within the red and orange Sinai mountains is Blue Lagoon, where Gabila is offering a glamping experience for people who are on the lookout for a glamorous vacation while still keeping that authentic Dahab feel.
The simple yet elegant looking camp combines comfortable hotel-like facilities with down-to-earth hay structures native to Dahab. While you do sleep on simple beds inside of a tent, each tent comes with a clean, state-of-the-art bathroom right nearby. That’s right, an actual bathroom at a campsite - the very definition of “you don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone.”
“‘Gabila’ means tribe pronounced in the local bedouin dialect, a group of people who cherish the sense of community and togetherness," Nael el Sheikh, who founded Gabila Blue Lagoon with his sister Noha el Sheikh, tells SceneTraveller.
The siblings’ goal was to bring glamping to the naturally stunning location. Settling at the tip of the lagoon, they created a comfortable, sustainable and relaxing environment, mixed with the Bedouin community feel.
"I came to this place nine months ago and I decided to live here,” Noha el Sheikh says. “So I wanted to create a place where I would want to stay and host like-minded souls. My brother made my dream come true."
For a night with a bed and breakfast at Gabila Blue Lagoon, it costs EGP 300 per person. The price is inclusive of a stay in a double hut, but excludes any extra activities, lunch and dinner.
