Alexandria Will Host Its First Major Cruise Departure in Over 15 Years
MSC Lirica departs Alexandria this Christmas, resuming large-scale cruises from the city for the first time in over 15 years.
Large-scale cruise departures are returning to Alexandria this Christmas, with MSC Lirica scheduled to embark passengers from the Mediterranean city on December 24th, 2026.
The 11-night sailing will mark the return of cruises of this scale departing directly from Alexandria after more than 15 years, allowing passengers to begin a Mediterranean itinerary from Egypt rather than travelling abroad to join the ship.
MSC Lirica will leave Alexandria at 10:00 PM on December 24th before spending two days at sea. Its first stop will be Split, Croatia, on December 27th, followed by Venice-Marghera in Italy on December 28th.
After another day at sea, the ship will continue to Katakolon, Greece, on December 30th, Heraklion in Crete on December 31st, Rhodes on January 1st and Limassol, Cyprus, on January 2nd.
The return leg will bring MSC Lirica back to Egypt via Port Said on January 3rd, before the cruise concludes in Alexandria on January 4th, 2027.
