SalamAir Launches First Direct Flight From Muscat to Sylhet
SalamAir is the first foreign airline with scheduled services to Sylhet.
Oman’s SalamAir has launched a new direct route between Muscat and Sylhet, becoming the first foreign airline to operate scheduled international services to the Bangladeshi city.
The route starts with three weekly flights, operating every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 1 September 2026. Flights depart Muscat at 12:45am, arriving in Sylhet at 7:35am, while the return service leaves Sylhet at 8:20am and arrives in Muscat at 11:20am. The route is operated by an Airbus A321neo.
Sylhet is SalamAir’s third destination in Bangladesh, following Dhaka and Chattogram, giving travellers a direct link to northeastern Bangladesh without connecting through another airport. The airline has also announced plans to increase the route to daily flights from January 2027, subject to demand and operational plans.
