Suite Dreams: The Hottest Hotels Opening in London in 2023

This one’s for the Egyptians lugging suitcases around Oxford street. We see you besties.

Farida El Shafie

London-obsessed Egyptians know one thing and one thing only - Harrods Cafe’s Braffles. They know Oxford street like the back of their hands, Covent Garden like it's their grandmother’s living room and the central line to Shephard’s Bush like it’s their backyard. They’ve endlessly traversed the residential streets of Kensington and Chelsea - placing bets on which Joe and the Juice makes the best pesto doused bread - and consumed enough Petersham Nurseries brownies to feed a small village.

The reality is, this subgroup of (fellow friends and family for most) has longed for more than just a serviced apartment in Hyde Park Corner. What was truly missing was the warm embrace of a gold-plated elevator button or two; ones that eventually led to penthouse views of London’s skyline.

Bearing those precise sentiments in mind, we’ve rounded up the hottest hotels opening across London this year.

🏨 Raffles London at The OWO

📍 Westminster

Whitehall is now home to more than just posh offices - St. Paul’s, you’ve always seen this coming. A decade in the making, Raffles Londone at The OWO will literally have a Guerlin spa and a chef’s table restaurant by Mirazur star Mauro Colagreco.

🏨 The Peninsula London

📍 Westminster

This one is giving Grosvenor road girlie who exclusively consumes oat matcha lattes. Overlooking Hyde Park Corner, the Peninsula London is akin to the blonde bombshell in every philosophy class that perfectly irons her linen shirts and is never spotted without her diamond encrusted signet ring.

🏨 The BoTree

📍 Marylebone

With a location straddling Marylebone, Mayfair and Fitzrovia, the hotel by Bond Street station promises to embody those free-spirited bar hopping afternoons whereby pub performances and long hours spent grazing on cheese assortments were - and continue to be - a London babe’s rite of passage.

🏨 Mandarin Oriental Mayfair

📍 Mayfair

Because being mere steps away from Vogue house is - and always will be - the reason for bookings. The newly-established Hanover square landmark promises to match wits with its Knightsbridge counterpart and offer slick urban designs punctuating Dickens-esque London fantasies.

🏨 1 Hotel Mayfair

📍 Mayfair

Whilst London fashion has always drawn on biophilic wool sweaters and leather jackets, its uber-lux Mayfair hotels have also been following in stride. 1 Hotel Mayfair, the nine-story eco-driven hotel beckons the Iliad-reading, latin speaking vegan girlies to sit back and unwind amidst their bamboo-clad interiors.

🏨 The Chelsea Townhouse

📍 Kensington & Chelsea

What was once an abandoned building in the South West of London is magically morphing into a green haven. Think sundresses (beneath puffers because we’re not about that hypothermia) in lush Cadogan gardens and minute-long treks to Sloane Street salon appointments.

🏨 Ruby Zoe

📍 Notting Hill

The Munich-based lean luxury hotel is letting us live those Loewe jean daydreams because, at heart, the hotel harbours the same form of quiet luxury Netflix’s hit show ‘Succession’ boasts.

🏨 The Broadwick Soho

📍 Soho

The embodiment of ‘gritty glamour’ this Soho based hotel is set to encapsulate the rugged yet seamlessly refined atmosphere harboured by central London's residents and day-to-day visitors. Brought to life by the masterminds behind Sexy Fish, Harry’s and Annabel’s, the hotel-to-be is already speaking to our inner influencer.

🏨 The Emory

📍 Knightsbridge

The same group that keeps Claridge’s, The Connaught and The Berkeley alive is bringing forth a new luxurious contestant. Enough to seduce your Bottega clutches into exiting wardrobe hibernation season, the luxury hotel - designed by the late Richard Rogers and Ivan Harbour of RSHP - boasts striking sail structures set to soar above the canopy of Hyde Park.

🏨 Kensington Locke

📍 Kensington & Chelsea

Whilst this one is meant to seamlessly integrate with Chelsea’s residential areas, its whimsical design and playful take on West London's opulent neighbourhood mimics that of its Eastbound counterparts. A mere five-minute walk from Earl’s Court station this new hotel serves as the perfect abode to unwind in post a busy morning of Victoria & Albert museum explorations.
