Egyptian Travel Agency Noland Citizen Announces Culinary Trip to India

You know what they say, you can only explore your destination through its cuisine.

Legendary professional chef/traveller Anthony Bourdain once said, “You learn a lot about someone when you share a meal together.” In the same vein, we learn a lot about places when we share in their culinary heritage. We’ve seen this to be true when exploring romantic European destinations like Greece, Italy, and Spain, adventurous South-East Asian getaways like Sri Lanka and Nepal, and even local vacation spots within one’s own country.

In an effort to bring this mentality to a select group of voyagers from around the world, Egyptian travel agency, Noland Citizen, and food consultancy, Lulu’s Kitchen, are planning a culinary trip to India this fall, from October 23rd to November 2nd.

For six months, Alia Al Askalany, founder of Lulu’s Kitchen, and Sara Farouk, founder of Noland Citizen, researched high and low for the ultimate India trip, one that would enable travellers to quite literally taste Indian culture to the fullest. This is how this culinary expedition was born.

The trip starts with a welcome dinner in Delhi, curated by Lulu’s Kitchen and Chef Anchal Bhalla at Taste Sutra Cooking Studio, and then on to further culinary explorations in Agra, Jaipur, and Jodhpur. Across the destinations, the journeyers will explore the Taj Mahal, UNESCO World Heritage Site Agra Fort, see the abandoned capital of Fatehpur Sikri, participate in a block printing workshop and enjoy a farm-to-table dining experience.

Finally, travellers will return to Delhi for Diwali celebrations with a local family, engaging in traditional rituals like making rangolis, lighting diyas, participating in Lakshmi Puja, and a final gourmet feast, which we can imagine they won’t soon forget.
