South Korea Resumes Flights to Egypt
South Korean airlines will operate a small number of flights between January and February in 2023.
South Korea has resumed charter flights to Egypt as it finally eases the last of its COVID-19 era travel restrictions.
Two charter flights from South Korean airlines have recently landed in Cairo International Airport. The first flight was operated by Asiana Airlines and came from Seoul with 295 passengers onboard. The second flight, meanwhile, was operated by Korean Air. South Korea first suspended charter flights to Egypt in 2012.
The suspension was briefly lifted seven years later in 2019 before the world was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to a global lockdown in 2020.
South Korean airlines will operate a small number of flights between January and February in 2023, before picking up the pace during the spring-summer season.
