Egypt's Casa Cook El Gouna Gives the Suite Life a Fresh New Look
From a prestigious MICHELIN Key and 29 new suites to a beachfront bash and a full day of wellness experiences, Casa Cook El Gouna has a rather busy November in store.
Hotel updates don't usually make for riveting reading. A few new rooms, some refreshed interiors, perhaps a new bit of tech you don’t bother to understand. But Casa Cook El Gouna, the perennially coveted hideaway in the Red Sea’s most illustrious town, has quite a bit more to report than a fresh coat of paint.
A favourite haunt of Egypt's holidaying aesthetes due to its artful architectural restraint, beach-club sensibilities, and decidedly grown-up take on coastal living, the adults-only retreat just earned a coveted MICHELIN Key, while adding 29 Deluxe Junior Swim-Up Suites to its now 129-strong collection, revamping its public spaces, giving its dining scene a fresh lease of life and introducing Wallet Key technology, too.
Clearly, Casa Cook isn't in the mood to keep all this to itself because, on Friday November 13th, the hotel is throwing open its beach front with a proper BOHO celebration, headlined by the certified party and good vibes instigator Camilo Franco. A former dj resident at Ibiza's legendary Space nightclub, Franco is the creator of The BOHO Experience,a music, art and fashion concept rooted in the free-spirited and bohemian culture of Ibiza, which now swaps the Balearic sunset for a Red Sea horizon. And,since one act is rarely enough for a crowd this well-versed in a good time, Swedish Musician & vocalist Olivia Pauline, We’ Am, an international egyptian musician and dj Neshow will also join the line-up.
But the weekend doesn't end when the music does. On Saturday, November 14th, Casa Cook is swapping the dance floor for a slower kind of gathering, with a programme that runs from colouring workshops with Santra and a chakra alignment session to sunset yoga, a soundbath with Olivia Pauline and a closing cacao ceremony.
The setting, naturally, is doing plenty of the heavy lifting. With a knack for the sort of beachside escapism that makes checking the time feel rather beside the point, Casa Cook has never needed much convincing to keep guests by the water. A little extra persuasion comes courtesy of the music, a suitably well-fed evening, and 29 brand-new suites for anyone whose idea of a good night involves not having to call a taxi home.
