Dubai is Expanding Its Public Beaches by Almost 400%

The first phase of the master plan, which will focus on the development of Al Mamzar beach, will begin in June.

Listen up, beach bums! Your seaside escapades are about to get a major upgrade this summer because Dubai is expanding their public beaches! With plans to make them almost 400% bigger by 2040, you will have four times as much space to work on that perfect beach tan of yours, four times as much sea to ride those waves, and four times the sand to show off your grotesque castle building skills.

As part of Dubai’s Urban Master Plan, the initiative will focus on famous public beaches like the Palm Jebel Ali, the Palm Jumeirah, and Al Mamzar. They will also add a new 8 km beach at the Jebel Ali area in collaboration with Nakheel, which will feature aqua sports, cycling and pedestrian tracks, and many more ways to entertain yourself.

Once all the beaches have been expanded, all the Emirati beaches put together will be 105 km long. Meanwhile, services provided on these beaches will ramp up by 300% in 2050.

The first phase of the master plan, which will focus on the development of Al Mamzar beach, will begin in June and is expected to be complete by the end of this year.
