Etihad to Double Flight Services to African Cities in 2025
Etihad plans to expand its African network to eight destinations with 57 weekly frequencies by the end of next year.
Aiming to double its services to African cities by 2025, Etihad Airways will resume flights to Kenya’s Nairobi this December, and will launch new routes to Tunis, Algiers, and Egypt’s El-Alamein next year.
Currently operating in four African cities—Johannesburg, Cairo, Mahe, and Casablanca—Etihad plans to expand its network to eight destinations with 57 weekly frequencies by the end of next year. This growth is further supported by codeshare partnerships with Airlink South Africa, Air Seychelles, Royal Air Maroc, and EgyptAir. The expansion includes upgrading Johannesburg and Casablanca services to daily flights by August 2025.
Travellers flying through Abu Dhabi on these routes can also enjoy Etihad’s free stopover offer, which provides one or two complimentary nights in the capital city’s luxurious hotels.
