Riyadh Air Launches Daily Flights From Riyadh to Cairo
Riyadh Air now flies daily between Riyadh and Cairo on the Boeing 787-9.
Saudi Arabia’s newest national carrier, Riyadh Air, is launching daily flights between Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport and Cairo International Airport, marking Cairo as the airline’s third passenger destination. Although an official launch date for the Cairo route has yet to be announced, the service is set to operate from Riyadh using the airline’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The Riyadh–Cairo route is already one of the region’s busiest short-haul markets, currently served by eight airlines including Saudia, flynas, and EgyptAir, alongside several low-cost operators. Riyadh Air’s move into the Cairo market comes as the airline continues preparations for full scheduled operations. The airline ultimately aims to connect to more than 100 destinations by 2030, with a focus on expanding international links before introducing domestic routes.
