Riyadh’s New Crowne Plaza Wants to Change How You Do Business Trips
The new hotel has 302 rooms, but what stands out is that 110 of them are residential suites.
If you’ve ever come to Riyadh for a “quick” work trip that somehow turned into a week, IHG Hotels & Resorts has just opened Crowne Plaza Riyadh Al Takhassusi in Al Olaya, and it’s clearly designed for stays that don’t fit neatly into a two-night itinerary. The new hotel has 302 rooms, but what stands out is that 110 of them are residential suites. So instead of just a bed and a desk, you get a kitchen, a living area, and space to actually settle in, whether you’re in town for work, medical visits near King Faisal Specialist Hospital, or just need to stay a little longer than planned. Location-wise, it’s right where you’d want to be if your schedule is split between meetings and getting around the city, with quick access to business hubs and the Diplomatic Quarter. As for the setup across the hotel, there’s Nasmah for all-day meals, Dallah Lobby Lounge if you need somewhere to sit with your laptop or meet someone without overthinking it, and Qamar Sky Lounge upstairs for when the day’s done and you want a view with it. There’s also a Club Lounge if you’re booking at that level. For work, there are four meeting rooms with natural light and full AV setups—nothing excessive, just functional spaces that do the job. And when you’re not working, there are two rooftop pools, separate gyms, and the kind of facilities you actually end up using when you’re staying more than a couple of nights.
