Saudi Arabia Lifts COVID-19 Restrictions for Vaccinated Travellers
According to the Saudi Ministry of Health, travellers will only need two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to move in and around the kingdom without most restrictions.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has lifted all precautionary and preventive measures against COVID-19 for anyone who has received their vaccinations, meaning vaccinated travellers and pilgrims are now able to make the trip to the kingdom without any of the restrictions that they had to deal with since 2020.
According to the Saudi Ministry of Health, travellers will only need two doses of the following vaccines to move in and around the kingdom without any restrictions: Pfizer-Biontech, Moderna, Oxford-AstraZeneca, Johnson, Kovovax, Novaxovid, Sinopharma, Sinovac, Cofaxine and Sputnik.
Vaccinated people will no longer be required to wear facemasks in closed spaces. Facemasks will still be required in specific sites, such as Al-Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, and Al-Masjid an-Nabawi in Medina. They will also be required in areas that mandated them before the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as private events where the host insists that everyone remain masked.
As long as you’re vaccinated, you will also no longer be required to use Saudi Arabia’s official COVID-19 vaccination app, Tawakkalna, to enter public spaces and events, although some private events may still ask for proof of your vaccination status regardless.
