Flydubai to Introduce Premium Economy in 2027
The new wide-bodies will support longer routes and increase frequencies, signalling another step in the airline’s shift away from its original low-cost model.
Flydubai will introduce premium economy for the first time as part of a three-class layout on its Boeing 787 Dreamliners, due for delivery from late 2027. The new wide-bodies will support longer routes and increase frequencies, signalling another step in the airline’s shift away from its original low-cost model. The move builds on Flydubai’s gradual upgrades in recent years, including business class, lounges and inclusive meals. Flydubai currently operates 96 Boeing aircraft and has more than 145 additional 737 Max jets and 30 Dreamliners on order. At Dubai Airshow 2025, the airline added a major new fleet chapter with an order for 150 Airbus A321 Neos, chosen for their availability, extended range and higher capacity. It also signed a provisional agreement for 75 Boeing 737 Max jets, with options for 75 more. The carrier continues preparing for its future move to Al Maktoum International Airport’s new mega-terminal, scheduled to open in 2032.
