The largest snow park in the Middle East and North Africa is opening in Oman! Who ever said there's no such thing as a White Christmas in the Middle East? Sprawling at an area of 14,830 square metres, the Snow Oman park is opening in the centre of the Mall of Oman, one of the biggest shopping malls in Muscat.

Designed to recreate Oman's cityscapes and sand dunes, only all covered in real snow, Snow Oman features all kinds of family friendly rides with wild names like Mountain Thriller, Snow BUllet, Cloud Climber, Slide Winder and Zorb Ball. They've also got towering attractions like the Frozen Shipwreck and Lighthouse, Cold Town Muscat, and a 475-square metre ice rink for visitors to slide upon with as much grace as they could muster (or not, depending on your sense of balance). Not only that, Snow Oman has become home to a colony of king and gentoo penguins in their own custom-built penguinarium!

The park has been established by Majid Al Futtaim, the Dubai-based holding company that owns and operates shopping malls such as Mall of Oman, and leisure establishments across the MENA region. Majid Al Futtaim is also responsible for building Ski Dubai, an indoor ski resort in Dubai's Mall of the Emirates, as well as its sister brand Ski Egypt in Cairo's Mall of Egypt.
