Qatar Airways Resumes Flights to Lisbon After Four-Year Hiatus
The historic cobblestone streets of the Portuguese capital are now fewer than nine hours away.
Qatar Airways is set to reintroduce direct flights between Doha and Lisbon, following a four-year hiatus prompted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Starting June 6, Qatar Airways will offer a four-times-weekly service between Doha and Lisbon, operating on Mondays to Thursdays with a mix of morning and evening departures. With this new development, Portugal’s Lisbon joins Qatar Airways's extensive list of global destinations, totaling more than 170, with 50 in Europe alone.
"Qatar Airways passengers can now enjoy very efficient ways to travel between Qatar and Portugal, as well as connect between Portugal and Asia, Africa, Middle East and the Indian subcontinent." Thierry Antinori, Qatar Airways chief commercial officer, tells SceneTraveller.
With the reinstatement of direct flights, the historically charming streets of Alfama will be less than nine hours away. Beautiful Lisbon beckons, where even the cobblestones have stories to tell—perhaps about the time they witnessed a spirited Fado singer serenading a pastel de nata.
